Protocol Title: A Randomized, Bouble-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Phase II Trial of Infliximab in Subjects with Pemphigus Vulgaris (PV) Receiving Prednisone

Purpose: The primary objective is to compare the safety and efficacy of systemic prednisone plus the infusion of infliximab to systemic prednisone plus infusion of placebo for treatment of PV. Secondary objectives address hypotheses about the underlying immune mechanisms and role of TNF-α in the development of clinical manifestations and in disease progress.
