The three-year program offers a varied clinical experience of outpatient clinics, inpatient services and consult services. Dr. Sarah Myers is the Residency Program Director.

  • First Year Residency:
    • 9 months outpatient clinics with attendings
    • Monthly Resident Duke clinic for 1st and 2nd year residents.
    • Weekly clinics at the Lincoln Community Clinic
    • Weekly continuity clinic at the nearby Durham Veterans Hospital
    • One month dermatologic surgery
    • One month dermatopathology.
    • One month pediatric dermatology
    • Consult service on weekends and week-nights for the Duke and Veterans Administration population beginning 4months into first year. Each resident spends four months providing on call coverage for the Dermatology service during his/her first and second years.
  • Second Year Residency:
    • Outpatient clinics at Duke and the VA.
    • Monthly Resident Duke clinic
    • Weekly clinics in the Duke Student Health Clinic
    • One month of dermatologic surgery
    • Two months of dermatopathology
    • One month Pediatric Dermatology
    • 4 Months of Weekend and night coverage of Duke and VA Hospitals
    • 1 month Clinical Research/Elective (optional)
  • Third Year Residency:
    • 3 months Consult Service Duke University Medical Center
    • 3 months consult service Durham Veterans Administration Medical Center
    • 1 month Dermatologic surgery
    • 1 month Dermatopathology
    • 1 month Clinical Research/Elective(optional)
    • 3 month Outpatient Clinics including specialty clinics
